So Much to Look Forward To

FriYay no. 8

Happy FriYay illustration of two affectionate cats surrounded by scenes representing a week of friends, work, date night, Symphony in the Park, family bowling and a birthday trip to Savannah.
Us, in cat form. As always.

What we did

This FriYay is actually pretty simple.

Bethany gets some much-deserved girl time, spending the afternoon with one girlfriend and the evening with another, while I get some time to put my head down and work on Tilth.

We don’t have some big Friday adventure planned together this week, and that’s perfectly okay. One of the things I love about us is that we can have our own things, our own people and our own time, and still always have so much we’re excited to come back together for.

And right now, there is a LOT to look forward to.

What we’re looking forward to

Saturday night is ours. We have a date planned, although neither one of us knows exactly where we’re going yet. Honestly, that’s part of the fun. Anywhere with Bethany tends to turn into a pretty good night.

Sunday evening we’re heading downtown for the Symphony in the Park at Pack Square Park. Music outside in Asheville and another evening together.

Then Wednesday, Ella, Bethany’s kids and I are taking Bethany out for dinner and bowling to start celebrating her birthday as a family.

And then comes the big one.

Thursday, Bethany and I leave for Savannah for four days together. Her birthday is Friday the 11th, so we’re spending the weekend wandering Savannah, celebrating her, exploring, eating good food and getting some uninterrupted time together.

There’s something really good about looking at the calendar and seeing so many different parts of our life on it: our friends, our kids, our work, our adventures and time that’s just for the two of us.

A lot of life.

And I really love the person I get to share it with.
