Greek Food, Flowers & Birthday Weekend

FriYay no. 11

Happy FriYay illustration featuring Robb and Bethany as affectionate cats in Asheville, surrounded by scenes representing their Greek Festival date night, Jemma's 14th birthday, flower picking and a Sunday visit to Biltmore with friends.
Us, in cat form. As always.

What we did

This FriYay starts with a pretty important birthday.

Bethany’s daughter Jemma turns 14 today, so we’re taking her out for a birthday lunch together before she heads off to have dinner with her dad.

Then tonight, it’s just Bethany and me.

We’re heading to the Greek Festival here in Asheville for a little FriYay date night. Greek food, music, wandering around together and enjoying one of those Asheville events that gives us an excuse to get out and do something different.

Nothing too complicated.

Good food. Good people. And time with my love kitten.

That’s a pretty solid FriYay.

What we’re looking forward to

The rest of the weekend has a little bit of everything.

Bethany’s son will be home for a sleepover, and Saturday Bethany and I are doing some shopping together, including looking for a new TV for her house.

Then Sunday turns back into birthday weekend for Jemma.

We’re going flower picking so she can choose some beautiful flowers for her birthday, and then we’re heading to Biltmore with Jemma and her friends to walk around, take pictures and make some memories together.

She’ll have her birthday celebration with her friends, and we’ll get to spend another day surrounded by some of our favorite people in one of our favorite places.

It’s not some giant getaway weekend.

It’s just one of those weekends filled with all the things that seem to matter most lately: our kids, our people, Asheville, little adventures and time together.

Good friends. Brighter days. And another Happy FriYay.
