FriYay no. 12
This FriYay isn’t really about where we’re going or what we’re doing.
Today is mostly a catch-up day for work, and tonight we’re leaving things open. And honestly, that’s kind of nice.
Instead, this one is about stopping for a minute and appreciating where Bethany and I are right now.
Our kids are doing well. We’re healthy. We’re happy. We have people we love around us. We have our own projects and interests, and we have this relationship that just keeps giving us more to be excited about.
Sometimes there’s nothing better to celebrate than realizing that life is good.
I’m incredibly grateful for Bethany, for our families, and for all the ordinary time we get to spend together.
Good health. Happy kids. Amazing love. Brighter days.
That’s plenty for a FriYay.
Saturday we’re each doing a little something for ourselves.
Bethany is getting together with her friend Joy to do a SoulCollage, spending some time creating, reflecting and hanging out together.
I’ll be working on some projects around the house. Building things, fixing things and inevitably finding another project while I’m doing the first one.
Then Sunday, we’re hoping to get outside together for a hike.
That one’s partly just because we love getting out into the mountains, but we also have a pretty good reason to start putting some miles on our legs:
Peru is only six weeks away.
Machu Picchu, the mountains, the hiking and one of our biggest adventures together yet are getting close enough that they’re starting to feel real.
So this weekend isn’t packed with plans.
It’s simply a little creativity, a little progress, some time in the mountains and a whole lot to be grateful for.
Same crew. Bigger adventures. And another beautiful FriYay together.
